Our Approach.

We rely on the knowledge, experience and local relationships of our partners to achieve sustainable, life changing results. We search for partners who know the language, customs and values of the communities we seek to serve and work closely with them to indentify specific projects which target the root sources of poverty. We are creating greater accountability by closely monitoring capital allocation to ensure that funds are used in a manner that produces the highest possible levels of sustainable community betterment and that our partners utilize your donations in a cost-conscious way. This is not a handout, but rather a cooperative effort towards the building of foundations from which communities can step out of the poverty trap.

How They Are Selected.

Each of our partners undergo a thorough due diligence review before any projects are funded. Proper due diligence prior to the contribution of funds to any partner organizations and continued periodic monitoring of our existing relationships is a core component of our operations. Before we formally engage a partner, we visit them onsite, often volunteering with them for a period of time. We discuss plans and how their projects meet the needs of our target recipients. Oversight of proper use of funds is one of the primary roles of our staff while working internationally. We seek to purchase and engage in development contracts directly when possible, thus ensuring the proper use of our contributions. When this is not feasible, we provide funds to our partners. Funds are not provided unless we are confident in our partner’s ability to achieve the successful completion or implementation of our joint projects.

Our Footprint.

Whenever possible, we purchase and encourage our contractors or partners to purchase local products to help support the local economies. We know that our supporters care about the environment just as much as we do so we’re striving to use green products in all of our work. We feel that we have an ethical and environmental commitment to spend money on locally produced (rather than imported) goods and services, use water and electricity efficiently, be mindful of local norms, protect the natural wildlife and natural resources, and improve the socio-economic positions of local poverty-stricken families and children.
